Finding Joy in the Process

Lately, I’ve been creating and posting videos on YouTube — small glimpses into my studio and the ways I make art. They’re beginner quality and far from perfect. The lighting isn’t always right, sometimes I ramble, and the editing is still a learning curve. But honestly? I love it. I didn't think I would. I thought it would be another chore I have to do. But I enjoy sharing my work, talking about projects and trying out ideas to inspire others.
There’s something deeply satisfying about showing up imperfectly and pressing record, Each video, no matter how simple, feels like a little offering: a moment of creativity, curiosity, and connection. The pace is slower and less hurried. This feels right to me more than a quick post on Instagram.
I’ve realized that perfection isn’t what draws me to art or to making videos. It’s the act of exploring. It’s the quiet joy of thinking, what if I tried this? and then seeing it come to life, even if it turns out differently than I imagined.
Posting these videos feels like opening a window to my studio — a space where I can share experiments, reflections, and the joy of making. It’s not about chasing views or perfect production. It’s about having a place where art, play, and imperfection can live together.
If you’ve been holding back from sharing your creative work because it isn’t “ready” or “good enough,” I hope this encourages you to begin anyway. The process itself — the thinking, trying, failing, and trying again — is the real art.
Here’s to showing up, staying curious, and finding joy along the way. If you do, drop me a line and I would love to see your work! 🌿
